When an employer transitions from the Zwitserleven Exclusief Pensioen (Zwitserleven) to the Zwitserleven Nu Pensioen (Zwitserleven PPI) after the contract ends, Zwitserleven PPI, for customer convenience, adopts the previously made choices of the participants in the new scheme. Zwitserleven PPI subsequently asks the participants for their approval. Recently, Zwitserleven PPI made a different decision regarding the adoption of previous choices.
Zwitserleven and Zwitserleven PPI
The Zwitserleven Exclusief Pensioen is managed by Zwitserleven the insurer. The Zwitserleven Nu Pensioen is managed by Zwitserleven PPI. Both parties work closely together, but legally they are two different pension providers. According to the Pensions Act, the relevant pension provider must ask participants with investment freedom for their investor profile.
Default settings
Participants who had chosen the investment form ProfielBeleggen or VrijBeleggen in the previous scheme at Zwitserleven will be assigned the default investment form HorizonBeleggen or DynamischBeleggen with a neutral investor profile in the new scheme at Zwitserleven PPI. After this, the participant can adjust these settings themselves via MijnZwitserleven to (if possible in the scheme) ProfielBeleggen or VrijBeleggen, and also determine the investor profile again.
What Zwitserleven PPI does with other choices
- Zwitserleven PPI will adopt previously made choices regarding voluntary insurances.
- For PensioenAanvullen, Zwitserleven PPI will follow the choice made by the employer for all participants in the new scheme: PensioenAanvullen is either set to off (the participant does not make additional contributions unless they activate PensioenAanvullen themselves) or on (the participant makes additional contributions from the start of this pension scheme unless they deactivate PensioenAanvullen themselves).
- For preparing for a fixed or variable pension, Zwitserleven PPI will follow the choice made by the employer for all participants in the new scheme: standard based on a fixed pension or a variable pension. Via MijnZwitserleven, the participant can adjust the new settings to personal settings.
Informing participants and employers
Participants will be informed about this via a letter included with their Pensioen 1-2-3 upon enrollment in the new scheme. Participants who have opted for digital communication will also receive a message in 'Messages' in MijnZwitserleven. We recommend that participants review the settings in MijnZwitserleven and adjust them if necessary, but at least within three months of receiving the Pensioen 1-2-3.
Employers who have recently accepted a renewal proposal that still includes the text that we will adopt all previously made choices of the participants will receive a letter from us with an explanation. Plus the information we send to the participants. For questions, we refer the employer to their contact person at Zwitserleven. For advice, we refer the employer to you as a pension adviser.
